The copper used in these pieces has not been waxed or laquered and will develop a gorgeous patina over time (like a penny). Water Lily Pendant

I just made and listed this Water Lily pendant in the shop. The pendant is made from reclaimed sterling silver and a vintage cast water lily. The water lily was once part of a pair of earrings, its mate is missing. The piece was too beautiful to toss in the scrap bin so I rescued it and gave it new life as this pendant. First, oh my! I knew it had been a while since I posted...but I had no idea that it had been this long!

On to the news...a new section had been added to the shop...hand forged silver jewellery! Here you will see our offerings of rings, earrings, pendants and bracelets...all made by hand with recycled silver. Some of the pieces can be done in additional quanties at your request...maybe you have a wedding coming up and need matching gifts for your attendants...or maybe you'd like you and your best friend to have matching items...we can do it! Of course, with handmade items, you should expect that there will be slight differences from piece to piece...not like mass produced items where everything is cookie cutter perfect.

Above is a picture of one of the new silver rings...all hand made with a free form silver nugget balanced on the band. Truely one of a kind as no two nuggets will ever be the same! This one is somewhat heart shaped. You can read more about it by clicking here.

Wrapture is hand assembled with a vintage 15 jewel Swiss made watch movement wrapped in antiqued silver toned filigree and accented with a Swarovski crystal to compliment the original ruby red watch jewels. The pendant hangs from a cable link chain measuring approximately 20" in length. Antiqued silver toned stations are added to the chain. Right! How about April snow! Earth Day is here....and so is more snow:(
You just have to love spring in Alberta...sunny and warm one day, a foot of new snow the next. I wish it would just rain - at least that doesn't need to be shoveled! It's hard to believe I was out in the yard and garden cleaning it up, getting ready for summer just yesterday. Oh well...at least this new dump of white stuff should disappear quickly. I found a new place to showcase my creations that gives back by planting trees for every seller that registers and donates to help worthy causes. It's called Cosa Verde and they only showcase items they approve that fall into their eco-friendly guidelines. Because I use repurposed vintage watches and parts from them, I can have a sellers showcase with them. They have a really awesome concept and one I'm sure that is a passion for many of us. I guess there is no time like the present to get this blog up and running...I've been stalling for quite a while. This is all new for me, so you'll have to be patient while I learn my way around this blogging thing!

I saw the first robin of the year early this morning, actually I heard it before I saw it. Hopefully that is a good sign that spring is on its way.
